Fashion's freakiest storyteller, Walter Van Beirendonck comes from the best alternate universe. Part of the famed Antwerp Six of the '80s, and current head of the Fashion Department at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Beirendonck paved the way for fashion bears around the globe with his trademark look and chromatic style.

Between 1993 and 1999, Van Beirendonck produced collections under the label W. & L.T. an acronym for

'Wild & Lethal Trash'. One of the first fashion brands to have a website, W. & L.T. was distinctly cyber at a time when the Internet was a new frontier for fashion (and the world). His cartoonish characters carry serious social messages with a heavy dose of humor.
